SSD Compatibility

Solid State Drives (SSD) are available for your PC today.  Those SSD have been tested under Windows.  Any SSD
that works in your PC with Windows will also work with TierOne.

SSD Capacity

TierOne only needs 8-20GB of SSD capacity to dramatically improve system performance.  The actual size
depends on the configuration of the PC and Windows.  This means you can get a big performance boost with a
small, and less expensive, SSD.  It also helps extend the lifetime of larger SSD.  A good capacity choice is 32GB to
64GB in size.

SSD Performance

Even a "slower" SSD is fast compared to a HDD.  It is good to purchase a SSD with better performance
characteristics, but within a reasonable price range.  You do not need the fastest SSD available, although faster
computers could benefit from faster SSD.

When it comes to SSD, larger capacity often means faster speeds, because more memory chips are used in
parallel.

SSD Endurance

Almost any SSD can be used with TierOne, but you must remember that they all will fail eventually.  Choosing a
SSD with a longer advertised lifetime is better, but within a reasonable price range.

SSD Manufacturers

In many cases, SSD can be ordered either stand-alone or bundled with cable and mounting bracket.
